My Experience with Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Salvation Palette:

outer packaging

This palette comes in a matte black outer cardboard packaging. The actual palette is also a classy matte black with gold embossing on top. The eye shadows are neatly arranged; the top row is dedicated to the mattes and the bottom row is for shimmery eye shadows. The palette also comes with a dual ended brush, which is quite useful. There’s a huge mirror provided too. Overall, I love the packaging and it is perfect to travel with because it gives you enough neutral and colourful shades.

What attracted me towards the palette is the equal selection of mattes and shimmers. Most of the palettes contain mostly shimmery eye shadows, which I like, but I lack mattes in my collection. This palette provides both. Also, I love the shade selection of this palette. You can create so many looks with this palette-be it day time look, night time look, date night makeup, you name it!

These eye shadows are super soft to touch and there’s hardly any fallout. There are a few shades that are a bit powdery, but only if you rub more to get more product. The pigmentation is good, I’m impressed that even the mattes are pigmented enough. You can also build up the pigmentation by layering more product.

The staying power needs slight improvement here. The shadows stay on for 4 hours without any primer. A primer would not only make the colours pop a bit more but also extend their longevity.

Now let’s start knowing each colour, starting off with the mattes:

swatch 1

Ghost: This is a stark white shade. Perfect to be used as a base eye shadow or even for cut crease. Luna: It is a skin coloured shadow. I personally use this shade to set my concealer. I also use it to clean up the crease sometimes. Must: This is a milk chocolate shade with a slightly grey undertone. It is good for building the crease as it looks very natural on my lids. Enigma: This is a soft baby pink colour that looks a bit white on my skin tone.

swatch 2

Fade: This is another brown with grey undertones, but it has more grey than ‘Must’. It’s a cool toned brown. Drama: This is a slightly warm brown shade which looks perfect in the crease. Afflicted: This is a dark brown shade which is super pigmented. You just need to touch your brush and have to tap off the excess because it is that pigmented. Pitch: I expected pitch to be a pitch black shade, but it turned out to be a soft muted black shade. It looks like a very dark brown shade sometimes.

Now the shimmers:

Need: This is such a gorgeous white pearly shade with fine shimmers. Perfect for highlighting. You really need ‘Need’ in your life! Dawn: This is similar to Need but a tad darker. Again, I adore this shade as well as all the shades in the shimmery section. Getter: This is yellow based shimmery gold shadow. Breathe: This one is a light beige colour with shimmers.

Too Grey: This is a chocolate grey shade with shimmers and it looks like a foiled eye shadow. Such a pretty shade! I can’t wait to use this! Stage: *dies* My favourite colour from the palette! I can’t tell you how gorgeous this shade is. It is a reddish copper shade and the shimmers make it 1000 times better. Addicted: If the name weren’t enough already! Such a pretty shade! It’s a greyish smoked out purple shade which makes me love this palette even more! Player: Another shadow that makes me go weak in the knees! This is a very unique shade, it has blue, grey and green in it. Sheer love!
